You’ve been in American Literature for 4.5 weeks now. How has the class been going for you so far?

 Prompt Response: Since being in American Literature for 4.5 weeks, the class has been going okay so far because I think I still have some room for improvement with some things like presenting. Another thing I could improve on is identifying a good theme for a story or poem and getting a better understanding about it.  


Summary: Today in class we read three poems by Emily Dickinson and analyzed them.


Reflection: I learned how to find the theme of a poem and analyze it.

Summary:  Today in class we read a story called "Navajo Creation". Reflection:  Something that I learned from today's lesson was that stories pertain to a lot of old mythical stories.

 Prompt Response: A real-life situation where jealousy negatively affected a relationship was when my friend was jealous about how I live life outside of school and the attention I would get from some people when we hang out with each other. Summary: Today in class we worked in groups and tried to identify different things in the story " The Jealous Father". Reflection: I learned how to break down the moral message of a story and break down sentences in a PowerPoint so that they're not too long for a slide.
