Reflect on a time when you paused to appreciate the beauty of nature, much like the speaker in “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.” Where were you, what did you notice, and how did that moment of stillness make you feel or change your perspective?

Prompt Response:  A time when I paused to appreciate the beauty of nature was when I was on an overnight field trip to a campsite. During the trip we went through some woods and explored different things in them. There were a lot of trees, flowers and old buildings in the woods. While taking a pause, I took the time to admire all the different sightings.  The experience made me appreciate nature more and gave me a relaxed feeling when present in it. Summary:  Today in class we read a poem by Robert Frost called "Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening," then afterwards we created one pager based on the poem we received.  Reflection:  I learned how to analyze a poem and apply it to a project.

In the poem, the speaker and his neighbor meet each year to repair a wall. Describe a time when you had to set or respect a boundary with a friend, family member, or classmate. How did it help or hurt your connection with that person?

Prompt Response:  A time I had to set a boundary was when a close friend kept messaging me late at night, even though I needed to wake up early for school. I didn't want to hurt their feelings, but I finally told them that I couldn't keep talking after a certain time because I needed to rest. At first, it felt awkward, and I worried it might make things weird between us. But over time, my friend understood and actually respected me more for being honest. Setting that boundary ended up strengthening our friendship because it showed we could communicate openly and still care about each other's needs. Summary:  Completed the assigned CommonLit Reflection:  I learned how to identify how the tone and mood of a poem shifts and how it is of big importance in a poem.

Both poems by Robert Frost explore the passage of time and life’s changing moments. Write about a time when something in your life changed more quickly than you expected. How does this experience connect to Frost’s idea that “Nothing gold can stay”?

Prompt Response:  A time when something in my life changed more quickly than I expected was when my closest friend moved away. One day we were hanging out after school like always, and then, she told me her family was leaving the state. It felt like everything shifted overnight. The routines, the laughter, and the comfort of always having her around. This experience connects to Frost's idea that "Nothing gold can stay" because it showed me how good things in life, like strong friendships or happy moments, don't always last forever. Even though they fade, they remain special because of how bright they shine while they last. Summary:  Absent Reflection:  Absent

As we think about our upcoming Vocabulary Monday, tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your favorite word and how often do you use it?

Prompt Response:  My favorite word right now is demeanor because it shows if someone is feeling uncomfortable or awkward in a different atmosphere or situation that they are in. Most people do not like to talk about how they feel around certain people, but by looking at their body language you can tell if a person is having a good time or not at an event. The word demeanor also relates to self control. A person with a positive, calm, or professional demeanor is often seen as being in control of their emotions, even when facing challenges. Someone whose favorite word is demeanor may personally strive to project a specific image, such as confidence or being approachable. By consciously managing their own outward mannerisms.  Summary:  Today in class we worked on our "Birches: Climbing Back to Childhood" presentations. Reflection:  I learned how to compare or connect my childhood to a poem.

In “Birches,” Robert Frost celebrates imagination as a way to escape life’s difficulties and reconnect with innocence. The speaker wishes to “get away from earth awhile” but also understands that he must eventually return to reality. Think about the role of imagination in your own life. How does imagination help you cope with challenges, boredom, or stress?

Prompt Response:  Imaginations help me cope with challenges, boredom, and stress because it provides a "safe space" and gives me a vision of the positive outcomes of a task, increasing my motivation. It also sparks creativity and innovation that can turn boredom into an opportunity for me to express the different creative things in my mind. My imagination can also bring me to a peaceful, safe place to reduce any anxiety I have. Summary:  Absent Reflection:  Absent

After reading “Out, Out—” by Robert Frost, reflect on a time when you faced a dangerous or high-pressure situation that demanded your complete focus. What made the situation risky, and how did your concentration affect the outcome?

Prompt Response:  A time where I faced a dangerous or high-pressured situation that demanded my complete focus was taking care of one of my family members when they had surgery on their leg. The situation was risky because if we didn't take proper care of her leg chances it would get infected or the wound would get opened up. My concentration affected the outcome because I was able to get them better by following the doctor's orders and they were able to walk out to places without crutches.  Summary: Today in class we read the poem "Out, Out" by Robert Frost and analyzed it based on what the poem is about. Reflection:  I learned how to analyze and annotate a poem to understand different wording and what's happening in the poem.

What did you do over the fall break?

Prompt Response:  Over the break I went to one of my friend's sleepovers. We all went out for food and got home to play some fun games and challenges. For most of the break I slept in until Wednesday, I went out for brunch and to the movies with my family. Summary:  Today in class we created a comic strip for our vocabulary words. Reflection:  I learned how to utilize vocabulary words to make them fit in a short story.

How do you find time to enjoy your day, even when you have a lot going on? Write about at least three specific things you do to enjoy small moments throughout your day.

Prompt Response:  I find time to enjoy my day by calling my friends, playing music, and watching funny movies. These three things help me enjoy small moments throughout my day because calling my friends allows me to catch up with the people I do not get to see everyday due to us not having any classes together. Playing my favorite music really sets the mood to my day because I get into a happy mood from working hard every week day. Lastly, watching movies helps me enjoy my day because the comedic vibe the movies have brought joy and laughter to my day.  Summary:  Today in class we finished our paragraphs for "Ambush" then completed our blog post. Reflection:  I learned how to properly use evidence when writing a paragraph to support my claim and how to look for any errors in my paragraph before submission.

Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you.

Prompt Response: A time when someone's words had a lasting impact on me was when my grandmother gave me wise words on how to live life, apply to many colleges, get a degree, and find a job that has a good pay check so I do not struggle with paying bills and other important things. She also tells me to look out for people who try to ruin your lifestyle and keep people who want to see me succeed very close to me and do not hold any negative thoughts about me. Summary: Today in class we did an "Argument Writing Practice" and identified why the evidence for the claims were not effective.  Reflection: I learned how to distinguish how evidence can not be effective to a claim.

Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone. 10/7/25

Prompt Response: A moment where I had to step out of my comfort zone was when I had to present different ideas or projects. I am a very quiet person who does not speak to anyone else, unless they are one of my friends or a family member. Every time I know I have to present something I get nervous and I start feeling nauseous. Now that I am in high school and I have been presenting in almost all of my classes I don't get as nervous as I did before,  but I still get anxious about it.   Summary: Absent Reflection: Absent

Write about a dream that felt real.

Prompt Response: A dream that felt real to me was my dream about becoming very wealthy when I get older. I was able to afford all the things that I wanted to get in real life in my dream. My dream persuaded me to succeed in life and get the job I want to have or start my own business and make a lot of money to help not only me, but also help my family so they do not have to worry about paying for things they can not afford and so that they do not have to be stressed with getting any money.   Summary: Today in class we worked on our new vocabulary words and wrote sentences for them, then read an article about cancel culture. Reflection: I learned how to make a claim about a specific topic on its own claim and counterclaim.

Write about the best gift you have received.

Prompt Response: The best gift that I've ever received was my first phone because I was able to call my friends when I get home from school and contact my family members when i'm not visiting them. I could also play different games and upload videos of me and my friends on Instagram and TikTok for memories in case we go our separate ways in the future. Summary: Today in class we talked about unpopular opinions, took notes in informal and formal sentences, and began the first part of our unpopular opinion argument paragraphs. Reflection: I learned how to make a claim that is supporting a topic without using first and second person perspectives.
